Chancellor’s Message

Nancy Cantor

It is a great pleasure to invite you to participate in the 2008 Commencement that will cap your years of study and hard work at Syracuse University. You, your families, and your friends can take justifiable pride in your earning a degree at one of the nation’s best universities.

The first day, Saturday, May 10, will encompass the traditional Commencement academic convocations and receptions for graduates and their guests in each of the schools and colleges. That evening, the entire Class of 2008, their families, and their friends are invited to a dinner dance in the Carrier Dome.

Commencement itself will begin with the procession of students, faculty, trustees, and administrators into the Dome on Sunday morning, May 11. This event, a ceremony that traces its traditions back to the Middle Ages, is also a joyful one that we hope you will remember fondly in the years to come. I look forward to greeting you as we celebrate together.
