Accessibility Information

Sign language interpreters and/or computer aided real-time translation (CART) will be provided at all Saturday Convocation ceremonies as well as Commencement.

For those that require accessibility accommodations for Sunday’s Commencement ceremony, please complete the form below before May 1.

Commencement Day Accessible Accommodations

For Sunday’s Commencement ceremony, disability related accommodations will be made for guests with wheelchairs, limited mobility, or in need of deaf services to sit in accessible seating sections of the JMA Wireless Dome.

To help accommodate all guests needing this accommodation, one additional guest can accompany the guest who requires the accessibility accommodation. All additional guests are welcome to sit in the open seating directly in front of these sections on a first come first serve basis.

American Sign Language: An interpreter will be available.

Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) will be provided on the ribbon board around the JMA Wireless Dome.

Wheelchair Accessible Entrances: JMA Wireless Dome Gates A, C, G and N.

Accessible Parking

Accessible trolley service is available to and from all West Campus lots and garages throughout the weekend running consistently between 7 a.m.–11 p.m. Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12 from 7 a.m.–2 p.m. There will be no accessible parking passes provided for commencement weekend.

In addition, Convocation shuttle service from the JMA Wireless Dome Gate A to receptions will be available Saturday, May 11 from 7 a.m.–11 p.m. to assist those with limited mobility. On Sunday, May 12 shuttle transportation to Drumlins will be available at Gate G and College Place from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Convocation Accessible Accommodations

Accessibility passes are not necessary for convocation ceremonies. Ushers will be available at each venue to direct guests who need assistance to locate accessible seating areas.

Accessibility requests or inquiries for school and colleges are managed by individual school and college contacts.

Wheelchair Rental Information 

Syracuse University does not provide wheelchairs for Commencement weekend.
