Commencement Events 2021

Syracuse University’s schools and colleges host celebratory Convocations before the Universitywide Commencement. Convocations individually recognize the degree candidates and present special awards.

All Convocations will be recorded and available here beginning Saturday, May 22, at 11 a.m. ET. You may watch these at your convenience.

Commencement is the Universitywide ceremony for all undergraduate, graduate and doctoral candidates. The Syracuse University Chancellor formally confers degrees at the Commencement ceremony.

Due to social distancing, there will be two hooding ceremonies and three Commencement ceremonies. All ceremonies will be livestreamed and recorded. Video will be available online after the events so graduates and families can watch at their convenience.

For guests attending Commencement, please review the in-person procedures, including testing and vaccination compliance, parking, seating, safety and security precautions.
